Important Spaces Beyond the Kitchen
We worked with clients in Hersham to design and install several spaces within their large home, nestled in beautifully landscaped gardens. To complement the inframe-painted kitchen we had already installed, we designed a laundry room, utility room and cloakroom, taking care to ensure the aesthetic was consistent with that of the kitchen.
Key Elements
Having a separate space for laundry allows for better organisation within the home. We incorporated plenty of storage around the built-in washing machine and dryer, which are raised to afford more comfortable access.
Pull-out baskets under the Cimstone sink run allow for sorting laundry in different colours and materials ready for washing. Varying height cupboards provide space for every shape of housekeeping materials and tools, including ironing boards, steamers and airers.
The utility room offers even more storage. It makes the ideal area to walk in and out of the garden without the need to walk muddy boots through the kitchen. It also houses larger tabletop appliances when not in use and features another sink run and fridge freezer, perfect for messy tasks and overflow storage, as well as a place to hide utility services such as meters, electrical panels and boilers.
Showcasing an elegant built-in vanity unit, luxurious marble counters, and a sleek wall-mounted WC, the cloakroom seamlessly combines function and style. Despite its compact size, it is undeniably a beautifully designed space.
