The Perfect Kitchen Space For Cooking & Entertaining
This Weybridge kitchen project was situated in a large newbuild home with a traditional feel for clients we had designed for before. The brief was to transform a stand-alone pantry room off the kitchen and the main kitchen, incorporating a large feature island for food prep. This beautiful kitchen forms part of a larger project, which we will feature in separate case studies. These include a laundry room, home office, media units, and bedrooms. Whether you are planning a small kitchen renovation or a whole home upgrade, come and discuss your vision with us. We work hard to deliver sophisticated, affordable spaces.
Key Elements
The client is a keen cook and wanted large appliances in keeping with a traditional aesthetic. A range-style cooker with its expansive induction top, oven and stylish tower housing an additional oven for everyday use accommodated their needs. We also maximised refrigeration capacity with a Liebherr larder fridge and larder freezer. These offer more space than a standard American fridge freezer. We recommended a high-powered Novy Crystal canopy extractor for quiet and effective extraction.
The surrounding mantel forms a striking kitchen feature. We added small glass-fronted top boxes with illumination and a break-fronted design to maximise the impact. We also created a bespoke detail with open shelving units inside the mantel sides. A small bar complements the kitchen design with bi-folding doors to hide the contents. The doors are inlaid with antique bronze mirrors to match the back of the cupboards when open, giving a nod to a classic bar design.
The island has a 60mm thick marble top with an ogee edge detail to create a statement, high-end centrepiece. The perimeter has a more simple quartz top with a subtle vein to complement the design but also provide a more practical and easy-to-clean surface. The main kitchen colour is warm and neutral for a timeless feel while Farrow & Ball’s Inchyra blue brings a touch of drama. Modern knurled antique brass handles tie in with the antique bronze mirrored splashback in the mantel section. The walk-in pantry is finished in the same Inchyra blue and, although separate, ties in the two kitchen spaces beautifully while offering plentiful storage options.
