As with all our clients, we focused our choice of materials and appliances to stay within budget while maintaining a high level of functionality and were able to incorporate a steam oven, multifunction pyro oven and 2 combination ovens. We also added a Quooker boiling water tap to the prep sink on the island as well as a wine refrigerator.
Working within the footprint of the kitchen space, we created 3 distinct areas:
A sink and refrigerator run that is framed with tall storage, comprising a large sink, integrated dishwasher and American Refrigerator. We added a quartz wall panel matching the worksurfaces so that the veining created a feature immediately visible as you enter the room.
Behind the island, the oven section, aesthetically balanced either side of a worktop preparation space with a mirrored wall panel that adds depth and reflects the lovely garden view. This area allows a space to have appliances positioned as our client is a keen baker and uses the food mixer regularly.
The main focus of the kitchen, the kitchen island with its Calacutta Venato Cimstone houses the Bora downdraft hob, with its discreet and effective function and no need for a bulky overhead extractor that would detract from the clean lines of the kitchen. The raised breakfast bar is set onto the island corner so that when seated, everyone can face inward toward the cooking area and this creates the eating and chatting social space our clients wanted.
