From First Consultation to Final Fit: What to Expect When You Work With Artizan Interiors

One of the most common things we hear from new clients is that they weren’t sure what to expect when they first got in touch. A new kitchen, fitted bedroom or bespoke living space is a significant investment, and it’s entirely natural to want to understand the process before you commit to anything.
At Artizan Interiors, we believe that clarity and communication are just as important as craftsmanship. So here’s an honest, straightforward guide to what happens when you work with us, from the very first conversation through to the moment we hand over a finished space you love.

Step 1: Getting in Touch
Everything starts with a conversation. Whether you call us directly, send an enquiry online, or simply walk through the door of our showroom in Chertsey, our first priority is to listen.
We’ll ask about the project you have in mind, the space you’re working with, your rough timescales and your budget. There’s no pressure and no hard sell. This initial conversation is simply about understanding whether we’re the right fit for your project and whether we can help you achieve what you’re looking for.
Step 2: Visiting the Showroom
If you haven’t already, we’ll invite you to visit our showroom. Seeing materials, finishes and cabinetry in person makes an enormous difference to the design process. Photographs are useful, but nothing replaces the experience of opening a real kitchen door, running your hand across a worktop or seeing how a particular finish looks in natural light.
Our showroom features a range of displays across kitchens, bedrooms and living spaces, giving you a genuine sense of the quality and craftsmanship we bring to every project. It’s also a relaxed environment where we can talk through your ideas without any time pressure.
Step 3: The Design Consultation
Once we have a clear picture of your project, we’ll carry out a full design consultation. This typically involves a home visit to measure your space accurately and get a proper feel for the room, the light and how the new design needs to work within its surroundings.
What We Cover in the Consultation
During this stage, we’ll discuss layout options, material choices, colour and finish preferences, appliance integration if relevant, and any practical considerations specific to your home. We’ll also talk about your lifestyle and how you actually use the space, because great design is always built around real life, not just aesthetics.
This is one of the parts of the process our clients find most valuable. Having an experienced designer walk through the space with you, ask the right questions and challenge your thinking in a constructive way very often leads to a better result than you’d originally imagined.
Step 4: The Design Proposal
Following the consultation, we’ll put together a detailed design proposal. This will include initial drawings and visuals, a specification of the materials and products we’re recommending, and a clear, transparent quotation.
We take time over this stage because we want you to feel completely confident before moving forward. If something isn’t quite right, we’ll refine the design until it is. We don’t move forward until you’re genuinely happy with what’s been proposed.
Step 5: Project Management
This is where the Artizan project management service really comes into its own. Once you’ve approved the design and confirmed the order, we take over the coordination of your project entirely.

What Project Management Covers
That includes liaising with manufacturers and suppliers, coordinating tradespeople such as plumbers, electricians and plasterers, managing delivery schedules and installation dates, and keeping you informed at every stage. Our clients tell us that this is one of the most valuable parts of working with Artizan. Home renovation can be stressful when you’re trying to manage multiple contractors and juggle timescales. We take that responsibility off your hands.
We only work with experienced, trusted tradespeople, and we’re on hand throughout the project to deal with any issues that arise, so you don’t have to.
Step 6: Installation and Finishing
When everything is ready, our installation team will carry out the fit. We take pride in the quality of our installations, and we won’t consider a project complete until every detail is right.
Once the installation is finished, we’ll walk through the space with you to make sure you’re completely satisfied. If there’s anything that needs attention, we’ll address it before we leave.
Step 7: Aftercare
Our relationship with clients doesn’t end when the installation is done. We’re always available to answer questions, provide guidance on care and maintenance, or assist with any aftercare requirements down the line. You can read what our clients say about working with us on our testimonials page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have a clear idea of what I want before getting in touch?
Not at all. Many of our clients come to us with only a vague sense of what they’re looking for. Part of our job is to help you clarify your ideas and translate them into a design that works. You just need to have a space in mind and be open to a conversation.
Is there a charge for the initial design consultation?
Please contact us directly to discuss consultation arrangements. We’re always happy to talk through your project before any commitments are made.
How involved do I need to be during the project?
As much or as little as you’d like. Our project management service is designed to take the coordination burden off you completely. We’ll keep you informed and consult you on key decisions, but the day-to-day management is handled by our team.
