Beautiful Barn Conversion Guest Kitchen
The Interior Designer came to us representing high net-worth individuals who were building a stunning barn-style guest accommodation within the grounds of their home. The project included kitchens in two separate suites and a shared utility and laundry space. The brief was to design something cost-effective that was sympathetic to the traditional feel of the building. It needed to be a social space with full cooking facilities that would typically be used for light food prep during short visits.
Key Elements
With vaulted ceilings and exposed green oak beams, the kitchen needed to sit quietly in the space. The interior designer used her skills to dress the finishes and elevate the overall feel. We used a smooth, painted shaker door in a neutral porcelain colour for the main units and complemented these with a deep blue island. We chose not to use a cornice or pelmet in order to achieve a clean, un-complicated aesthetic while staying sympathetic to the space and budget.
A large double Belfast sink, Perrin & Rowe bridged tap, white Quartz worksurfaces and solid brass door furniture help give the kitchen a traditional design focus. We completed the spaces with a freestanding dresser in dark blue and three heavy cushioned bar stools trimmed with dark blue velvet and brass studs to tie in with the kitchen detailing.
The project delivered attractively priced kitchens with carefully considered detailing that ensured the completed project looked stunning and sat very well in an outstanding development, meeting both the budget requirements and the design standard.
