A Modern Bright & Warm Cottage Kitchen in Walton on Thames

Following a recommendation from a neighbour who’d had their kitchen designed and fitted by us, our clients Katie and Jon called on us to design their new kitchen space.
Initially they thought a shaker style kitchen would suit their beautiful cottage in Walton on Thames, although Jon was very keen to have a more contemporary handleless style of kitchen with clean lines, and a visit to our studio in Chertsey cemented that idea, but Katie still had some reservations. The solution was of course to find a way of having a little of both without compromising the aesthetic of the design – a sleek look combined with the warmth and brightness of a lovely cottage style, all the while keeping functionality and practicality a priority.

Within the space, we also had to incorporate a utility area and this was achieved using separate areas within the open plan kitchen, while maintaining a uniform aesthetic.

Key Elements

A combination of dark matt green, white and warm wood accents with Caesastone White Concrete ceramic worktops created the look our couple was looking for.

Plenty of storage, in the drawer base units as well as inside the larder units ensures there is a space for everything with AEG and BORA appliances taking care of cooking and refrigeration.

To complete the smartness of a modern cottage kitchen, a Quooker boiling water tap eliminates the need for a kettle on the countertops and a striking white glass splashback add a sense of more depth and brightness to the room.
