Moody Blue, Black and Brass Kitchen – Ewell
Following a decorator’s recommendation, we met with Holly and Joe who were renovating their home and adding a large open-plan space that incorporated a new kitchen with a substantial island. Our meticulously considered design showcases a sophisticated blend of traditional and modern elements.
Key Elements
This beautiful painted shaker-style kitchen is a masterclass in understated elegance. The solid oak dovetail drawer detail and carcase provide a warm, natural contrast with the Sumburgh Blue woodgrain cabinetry and brass door furniture. The imposing island with its Bianco Frost stone serves as a great space for food prep, family meals and a social hub for this stylish home.
High-tech appliances, all fully integrated and a Quooker Classic Fusion tap in patinated brass over a crisp white ceramic butler-style sink blend the modern and traditional beautifully. We used the same stone under the sink to add another interesting feature – a detail that works very well. A BORA hob and wine cooler, as well as floor-to-ceiling tall units, were a must for this space too, and the clients added beautiful black framed seats to the island that work really well aesthetically and practically.
All the elements of a kitchen that will be enjoyed and that will stand the test of time are incorporated into this project.
